TENNESSEE STATE YOUNG AMERICAN BOWLING ALLIANCE TOURNAMENT POLICY JUNE 8, 1996 SECTION A- REQUIREMENTTS 1. The tournament will be held in this sequence: Region 1- 3- 2 The regions are defined as: Region 1- Memphis, Jackson, Clarksville Region 2- Chattanooga, Columbia, Nashville Region 3- Bristol, Johnson City, Knoxville 2. The Vice-President of the region hosting the tournament shall be responsible for providing directors from that region to work the tournament. The Vice-President shall also be Responsible for the scheduling and coordinating of the directors. The regional Vice-President Shall ensure that ample assistance is available throughout the tournament. SECTION B- HOST CITY CRITERIA 1. The delegates of the TSUSBCYA Annual Meeting shall select the tournament city 2 years in Advance from invitions submitted by qualified cities. To be a qualified city the USBC YOUTH Chartered association must have within its jurisdiction, 2 bowling centers with a minimum Of 24 lanes each. 2. USBC Youth or USBC chartered associations interested in hosting the tournament shall submit letters of Invitations to the TSUSBCYA MANAGER at least 30 days prior to the annual meeting. When More than 2 centers are being considered for the tournament site, representatives of the TSUSBCYA shall make a selection of the establishments in which to conduct the tournament. SECTION C- HOST CITY RESPONSIBILIES Responsibilities of the association hosting the TSUSBCYA tournament include: 1. Paying for the cost of printing the entry forms 2. Providing office space for tournament directors and officials. 3. Planning opening ceremonies for the tournament. 4. Arranging sorekeepers and lane monitors on all squads. 5. Being available to assist in any area to make a successful tournament. SECTION D- ENTRY INFORMATION
1. The Tennessee State USBC Youth Association (TSUSBCYA) shall conduct an annual Championship tournament’ This tournament shall be conducted on a handicap basis and shall include a four member team event, a singles event, and a doubles event. Participants bowling in all 3 events will automatically qualify for all-events awards. 2. The tournament will be conducted in 4 class divisions ( A, B, C, D) by averages. 3. All bowlers will be 3 games per events 4. Entries are limit to one time only in singles and doubles event. However, they may enter 2 team events, provided they change 2 original members. 5. Bowlers may choose to bowl scratch single. Bowlers entering scratch singles will be entered in all-events scratch only. 6. Entries are limited to YABA members who are sanctioned through a Tennessee association or the Tennessee Alliance at large. 7. Awards, expense fees, and bowling fees shall be determined by the Executive Board after the tournament site is determined, based on current bowling fees in the hosting city. SECTION E- SUBSTITUTIONS Substitutions will be allowed; however, scores bowled in first appearance will constitute the scores used for all events. SECTION F- AWARDS Awards will be given on a basis of 1 for each 10 entries in teams, singles, and doubles event of the 4-class division. Awards will be present to first and second place all-events in each division. Scratch championships in team events will receive awards, and scratch singles (if entered). First and second place individual scratch series, game and all-event in each division (boys and girls) will receive awards. Boys and girls will be recognized separately in singles and all events only (no team or doubles). SECTION G- COMPENSATION 1. The TSUSBCYA Manager shall be compensated at the rate of $.10 per bowler per game. This Total will be calculated the first day of the tournament. 2. The sum of $200 shall be designated for tournament assistance. This money will be used as Deemed appropriate by the TSUSBCYA officers in conjunction with host local association officers.
